Protocol between the Lord Chancellor (on behalf of the Government) and the Law Commission

Published:
Open document

Sets out departmental responsibilities after the Law Commission has published a report and details the timetable for providing an interim and final response.

In 2010 the Government and the Law Commission agreed this protocol detailing departmental responsibilities once we have published a report.

The minister for the relevant department will provide an interim response as soon as possible (and no later than six months) following publication then a final response as soon as possible (and within a year of publication).
