About the Law Commission

Diversity and inclusion

This page is available in Welsh

We want to ensure that the law is fair, modern, simple and cost effective. To achieve this, we must embrace diversity and inclusion – in relation to those we work with and also when making recommendations to government.

Our goals are to:

  • create a diverse workforce across all levels of the organisation
  • create a workplace where everyone feels included and valued
  • use our position to help people from communities under-represented in the law to pursue a legal career
  • ensure our law reform recommendations come from a strong understanding of the different experiences of communities across England and Wales

Our diversity and inclusion strategy asks our employees to create a workplace that celebrates our diversity and values it as essential to our success.
