The Law Commission published a final report, jointly with the Scottish Law Commission.
Charity law: technical issues in charity law
We published our report on 14 September 2017. The Government responded on 22 March 2021. The Charities Bill was introduced in the House of Lords on 26 May 2021 and on 24 February 2022, it received Royal Assent becoming the Charities Act 2022.

Our recommendations for reform are included in the Charities (Protection and Social Investment) Act 2016, which received Royal Assent on 16 March 2016.
