60th anniversary exhibition at the Royal Courts of Justice

Published:

A pop–up exhibition celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Law Commission is now on display at the Royal Courts of Justice in London. The banners explain the history and work of the Law Commission as well as the value law reform brings to the economy and society. The exhibition follows a short display in Parliament.

Since 1965 the Law Commission has kept the law of England and Wales under review, making recommendations for development and reform where needed. Some of the previous commissioners and staff have gone on to become leading figures in the legal profession, including Baroness Hale, former President of the Supreme Court. It is a small, trusted, independent body of teams of legal policy experts each focusing on distinct areas of the law and each led by a Commissioner who is an experienced judge, barrister, solicitor or teacher of law.

The exhibition is on display in the Main Hall of the RCJ until the end of November. It is free to visit and there is no need to book.
