The Government has today taken forward recommendations by the Law Commission in its Commonhold White Paper.

The Government has today taken forward recommendations by the Law Commission in its Commonhold White Paper.

The White Paper sets out the Government’s plan to reinvigorate commonhold by implementing the vast majority of recommendations made by the Law Commission in their report Reinvigorating commonhold: the alternative to leasehold ownership published in July 2020

Welcoming the White Paper, Commissioner for Property, Family and Trust, Nick Hopkins said,

“The introduction of this White Paper is a welcome step in implementing our recommendations and ensuring that flat owners can enjoy all the benefits of freehold ownership though commonhold.”

Further details of the White Paper and its proposals are available at Commonhold White Paper – GOV.UK
