Accessibility of transport for disabled people
This review will consider the laws governing the accessibility of transport for disabled people in England and Wales and the wider frameworks in which they are contained.
Agricultural tenancies
This project will examine the law governing tenancies of agricultural land.
Management of housing estates
Leaseholders of flats who meet certain qualifying criteria currently have the right to take control of the management of their block of flats (the “Right to Manage”). Freeholders of houses on a housing estate have no equivalent right to take management of the estate. The project will consider the creation of a new right for freeholders on housing estates to take over the management of their estates.
Ownerless land
Addressing the problems that can arise when land ceases to have an owner and transfers to the Crown.
14th Programme of Law Reform
The 14th Programme of Law Reform was launched on 4 September 2025.
Criminal appeals
The Law Commission is consulting on reforms to the law governing criminal appeals, including the tests applied by appeal courts and the Criminal Cases Review Commission, post-trial retention of and access to evidence, and compensation and support for the wrongly convicted.
Kinship care
Reforming the law to improve the current complex landscape, making options for kinship care for children simpler and easier to navigate.
