A winning joint enterprise
The Law Commission congratulates the winners of our first-ever university law reform competition.
The winning team – Nicola Campbell, Scott Leonard, Elliot Booth and Jessica Low – visited the Commission on Tuesday 26 April. The four law students from the University of Sheffield presented their project, “A meeting of minds: denouncing ‘parasitic liability’ in joint enterprise”, and discussed their reform ideas with the Law Commissioners.
Presenting the team with their award, Chairman Sir David Bean said:
“Our congratulations go to the Sheffield students whose winning entry is clearly the result of hard work and collaborative, creative thinking. We are delighted to welcome them to the Law Commission and thank them for taking part in our 50th-anniversary competition.
“Taking part in this competition offers students an opportunity to practise skills that are highly valued in the legal profession and gives them an insight into the demands, complexities and benefits of the important work of law reform.”
