Weddings: Virtual Consultation Events
The weddings consultation is now closed. Click here to watch video presentations about our provisional proposals.
The Law Commission is hosting a series of live Q&A events, to answer questions about the new scheme for weddings law that we provisionally propose in Getting Married: A Consultation Paper on Weddings Law.
Each event will have a different focus. Please join the one most relevant to you.
Each Q&A session will follow a pre-recorded presentation, during which we outline our provisional proposals for reform most relevant to that particular session. Attendees can watch the presentation at any time in advance of the event, at a time most convenient for them. We strongly suggest that you ensure that you have watched the presentation before joining the live Q&A event.
The event will be held on Microsoft Teams. For information about attending a Microsoft Teams live event, click here.
You will not be on camera or able to speak during the event.
For each session, you will be able to submit your questions during the event, by posting them in the chat box on the right-hand side of the screen. Alternatively, you can email your questions in advance to weddings@lawcommission.gov.uk, identifying which Q&A session you are attending in the subject line. We cannot promise to answer all questions during the session, but we will do our best to cover as many as possible.
(Please note that questions will be moderated. While free discussion is essential, abusive, offensive or derogatory posts are not acceptable and, if necessary, will result in you being removed from the event.)
We look forward to discussing our proposals with you.

Mae Comisiwn y Gyfraith yn cynnal cyfres o sesiynau cwestiwn ag ateb byw, i ateb cwestiynau am y cynllun newydd ar gyfer gyfraith priodasau rydyn ni’n awgrymu yn “Priodi: Papur Ymgynghori ar Gyfraith Priodasau.”
Bydd pob sesiwn yn canolbwyntio ar faterion gwahanol. Ymunwch a’r un fwyaf perthnasol i chi, os gwelwch yn dda.
Bydd pob sesiwn cwestiwn ag ateb yn dilyn cyflwyniad wedi’i recordio o flaen llaw. Yn ystod y cyflwyniad byddwn yn amlinellu ein hawgrymiadau ar gyfer diwygio sydd fwyaf perthnasol i’r sesiwn. Gall y sawl sy’n bresennol wylio’r cyflwyniad o flaen llaw, pan fydd fwyaf cyfleus iddynt. Rydym yn awgrymu yn gryf i chi wylio’r cyflwyniad cyn ymuno gyda’r sesiwn cwestiwn ag ateb byw.
Bydd y digwyddiad ar Microsoft Teams. Ar gyfer gwybodaeth am fynychu digwyddiad byw ar Microsoft Teams, pwyswch yma.
Ni fyddwch ar gamera na’n gallu siarad yn ystod y digwyddiad.
Ar gyfer pob sesiwn, byddwch yn gallu gofyn eich cwestiynau yn ystod y digwyddiad trwy eu postio yn y blwch sgwrsio ar ochr dde’r sgrin. Fel arall, gallwch e-bostio eich cwestiynau o flaen llaw i weddings@lawcommission.gov.uk, a rhoi pa sesiwn rydych chi’n mynychu yn llinell pwnc yr e-bost. Dydyn ni ddim yn gallu addo byddwn yn ateb pob cwestiwn yn ystod y sesiwn, ond fyddwn n gwneud ein gorau i ateb gymaint ag sy’n bosib.
(Bydd cwestiynau yn cael eu cymedroli. Tra bod trafod yn rhydd yn bwysig, dyw postiai ymosodol, sarhaus neu ddifrïol ddim yn dderbyniol ac, pe bai angen, gall hyn arwain at eich diarddel o’r sesiwn.)
Rydyn ni’n edrych ymlaen at drafod ein hawgrymiadau gyda chi.
